Sabei Cultural Experience & Sunset Viewpoint
The Sabei people (also known as Sebei) are a Nilotic tribe inhabiting the Elgon slopes — related to the Kalenjin of Kenya. They are famous for their traditional circumcision ceremony (a coming-of-age rite for young men and historically young women) and their relationship with Mount Elgon's forests and caves. Evening: music and storytelling by Sabei community elders at the lodge, followed by sunset at the Sipi Falls viewpoint — one of Uganda's most dramatic golden-hour vantage points.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a coffee drinker to enjoy this tour?
No — the coffee farm walk is fascinating regardless of whether you drink coffee. The agricultural process, the mountain landscape, and the farming community experience are the highlights. Non-coffee drinkers typically enjoy the roasting and aroma experience just as much. Tea and herbal infusions are also available.
How difficult is the Sipi Falls hike?
The triple waterfall hike is 3–4 hours at moderate difficulty — steep in sections but well-maintained paths. Good walking shoes are essential (no flip flops). The views at each waterfall level are the reward. Children over 8 and most adults of normal fitness will manage comfortably.
Is this tour suitable if I am also visiting Jinja/Murchison Falls?
Sipi Falls is in eastern Uganda — making it a natural route if you are coming from Jinja (2.5hrs away) or continuing to Kenya via Malaba border. It can also be combined as a standalone before or after Murchison Falls (a longer drive, but very doable). Our team can integrate Sipi into any Uganda itinerary.
