4-Day Itinerary — Day by Day
Day 1
Kampala / Entebbe → Bwindi Impenetrable NP (Buhoma Sector)
Early departure southwest to Bwindi. Arrive Buhoma afternoon. This evening is important: thorough briefing on both gorilla families you'll meet, photography strategies for both treks, and what to expect from consecutive days in the forest. Rest and rehydrate — tomorrow is Day 1 of your double trek.
Day 2
GORILLA TREK #1 — Buhoma Sector (Morning) + Batwa Walk (Afternoon)
7:30am first gorilla trek from Buhoma gate. Your first gorilla family today. Spend 60 minutes with them — use this time to calibrate your photography settings, observe behaviour, and absorb the encounter. Your guide encourages you to notice details you'll compare with tomorrow's family. Afternoon: Batwa cultural forest walk — contextualising Bwindi's human history alongside its wildlife. Overnight Buhoma.
Day 3
Transfer to Rushaga Sector + GORILLA TREK #2 — Rushaga
Morning: drive 2.5 hours from Buhoma to Rushaga sector (southern Bwindi). Check in to Rushaga lodge. After lunch: 7:30am gorilla trek briefing (afternoon permits available in Rushaga). Your SECOND gorilla family — completely different in size, dynamics, and personality from yesterday's. Two silverbacks, two family structures, two behavioural patterns. The comparison is extraordinary. Evening: debrief over dinner — your guide discusses the differences between the two families, the two sectors, and the conservation story behind each.
Day 4
Rushaga Morning → Return to Entebbe / Kampala
Breakfast, optional morning forest walk, then depart Rushaga for the return north. Arrive Kampala/Entebbe by evening. Your guide emails your combined species and behaviour notes within 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do two gorilla treks in one trip?
Each gorilla family has completely different dynamics — size, personality, silverback behaviour, family structure. A 15-member family with a young silverback behaves entirely differently from a 30-member family with a dominant patriarch. Two treks in two sectors give you a comparative understanding that single-trek visitors never experience. For wildlife photographers, the second day is often when the best images come — you know what to expect and can position yourself more effectively.
Is $1,600 really for both permits?
Yes — two gorilla trekking permits ($800 × 2 = $1,600 per person) are both included in the G-06 package price. This is the full permit cost included in your package.
Can I choose which two sectors?
Yes. The most popular combination is Buhoma (Day 2) + Rushaga (Day 3). Alternatively, we can arrange Rushaga + Nkuringo, or Buhoma + Ruhija. We choose sectors based on permit availability and your fitness level. Contact us to discuss the best combination for your trip.
"Gorilla trekking permits are strictly limited — only 8 visitors per gorilla family per day. Peak season (June–September) sells out months in advance. Start your Roam Beyond payment plan now to secure your date."
